This course provides the context for understanding nursing as a scientific discipline, based on theory and research-based knowledge from nursing, the arts, humanities, and other sciences. Designed for the advanced practice nurse, the student will investigate theoretical perspectives and concepts as they relate to nursing knowledge and theory development and the evolution of the discipline of nursing and advanced practice role. Student must be admitted to the DNP to enroll in this course.
