SPS 510: Sport in Society

Sport plays a substantial role in the 21st century across the global. Have you ever considered the larger questions that surround sports when it comes to culture, education, money, race, gender/sex, and politics? Utilizing a global, issues-oriented approach to study the role of sport in society, students will engage in the examination of sport through sociology and philosophical lenses. An examination of the role of governance in national and international sport is also included.
