CJC 520: Reentry & Reintegration

Credits 3

This course examines the transition from incarceration into the community. Reentry into the community begins with pre-release planning. Pre-release planning can be helpful but upon release, formerly incarcerated individuals often face limited opportunities for success, barriers to reentry, and lack of support for reintegration. These topics and other topics will be explored in depth. Current trends and evidence-based practices in reentry and reintegration will also be examined. This is a writing intensive course.
