CJC 510: Institutional Corrections and Offender Rehabilitation

This course provides an overview of the organization of correctional institutions, risk assessment, the delivery of services, and rehabilitation of those incarcerated. The history of punishment and sentencing, constitutional protections, current policies and practices, and contemporary issues in corrections are also examined. This is a writing intensive course. This course is open only to students in the Criminal Justice/Community Corrections or the Forensic Mental Health programs.
